About AADI

Action for Ability Development and Inclusion (AADI), formerly known as the Spastics Society of Northern India, was established in 1978 in New Delhi. It has evolved from a charity-based model into a rights-centred organisation, changing its name in 2010 to reflect this shift.

What They Do

  • Special education — the AADI School provides comprehensive education for children with cerebral palsy, multiple disabilities, and physical disabilities
  • Therapy services — physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and hydrotherapy
  • Vocational training — the AADI Vocational Centre prepares adults with disabilities for supported and open employment
  • Inclusive education support — resource teachers placed in mainstream Delhi schools
  • National training — training programmes for therapists, teachers, and community workers from across India

Who They Serve

AADI primarily serves people with cerebral palsy, physical disabilities, and multiple disabilities, from early childhood through adulthood. Its training function reaches professionals nationwide.

Campus

AADI's Hauz Khas campus in south Delhi is one of the most comprehensive disability resource centres in North India, housing its school, therapy departments, vocational centre, and administrative offices.
