Advocating Change Together is a Minnesota-based self-advocacy organisation founded in 1979, led by and for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. ACT provides leadership training, peer support, and legislative advocacy through the Self-Advocates of Minnesota network.

Advocating Change Together (ACT) is a Minnesota self-advocacy nonprofit founded in 1979 by people with disabilities who wanted to represent themselves and train others to do the same. Based in St. Paul, ACT has supported thousands of Minnesotans over more than four decades of peer-led advocacy and community education.
What They Do
ACT delivers advocacy training, leadership development workshops, and peer-support programmes through the Self-Advocates of Minnesota network. The organisation engages at the state capitol on issues affecting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities — including Medicaid, housing, employment, and community integration — and trains self-advocates to speak for themselves in public forums.
