Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind(AIDB)
The Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind is the world's most comprehensive education, rehabilitation, and service programme for people who are deaf, blind, deafblind, or multidisabled, operating continuously since 1858. Headquartered in Talladega and serving more than 31,000 individuals across all 67 Alabama counties, AIDB delivers cradle-to-career services through six campuses and ten regional centres.

Founded in 1858 and headquartered in Talladega, Alabama, the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is a state-operated institution whose main campus includes the Alabama School for the Deaf, the Alabama School for the Blind, the Helen Keller School for deafblind students, and the E. H. Gentry Facility for adult vocational training. Regional centres operate in Birmingham, Decatur, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Opelika, the Shoals, and Tuscaloosa.
What They Do
AIDB provides early intervention from birth, K–12 education across specialised schools, adult vocational training, supported employment through Alabama Industries for the Blind, and community services including interpreter services, assistive technology assessments, counselling, support groups, and free telecommunications equipment for individuals who are deaf, blind, or deafblind.

Infants through seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, deafblind, or multidisabled — along with their families — across all 67 Alabama counties, with services spanning the full lifespan.
