The Arc of Illinois is the state affiliate of The Arc of the United States, established in 1950 by families of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Headquartered in Mokena, IL, it is the largest statewide I/DD advocacy organisation in Illinois, with dozens of local chapters covering all regions.
What They Do
The Arc of Illinois engages in legislative advocacy, policy reform, family support programmes, community transition initiatives, self-advocacy training, and public education. It operates the Illinois Life Span Project and provides resources to help families navigate the I/DD service system throughout all stages of life.
