The Arc Tennessee
The Arc Tennessee is the statewide chapter of The Arc of the United States, advocating for the rights and full inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Tennessee. The organisation empowers individuals with I/DD to participate actively in community life and works with legislators, providers, and families to build an equitable service system.
About
The Arc Tennessee is headquartered at 545 Mainstream Drive in Nashville and operates as the statewide affiliate of The Arc of the United States — the nation's oldest and largest grassroots advocacy organisation for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc Tennessee supports a network of local chapters across the state.
What They Do
The Arc Tennessee leads individual and systems advocacy, engages in Disability Day on the Hill for direct legislative access, provides Individual Educational Supports, offers resources for families navigating disability services, and builds local chapter capacity statewide. The organisation also promotes community employment and inclusive housing options for people with I/DD.
Who They Serve
The Arc Tennessee serves people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities — including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and other I/DD conditions — along with their families, caregivers, and the organisations that support them across the state.
