About

Founded in 1983 and registered under Belgian law (aisbl), Autism-Europe is headquartered at Rue Montoyer 39, Brussels. It emerged from the autism-family advocacy movement and now works in partnership with autistic self-advocates across its approximately 90 member organisations in 38 countries. The presidential role is statutorily reserved for either an autistic person or a parent.

What They Do

Autism-Europe organises the International Congress of Autism-Europe every three years — the largest autism conference in Europe — and produces the membership journal LINK. It advocates at EU level for autistic people's rights in education, employment, healthcare, and independent living, and runs European Autism Awareness Day campaigns to shift public understanding.

Who They Serve

Autism-Europe serves autistic people of all ages and their families, as well as professionals working in autism services. Its member organisations represent hundreds of thousands of autistic individuals and family members across the EU and beyond.
