Canadian Hearing Services(CHS)
For over 85 years, Canadian Hearing Services has been the leading provider of products, services, and education that remove communication barriers for Deaf, oral deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing Canadians. CHS is governed by a board the majority of whom are Deaf or hard of hearing, embedding lived experience at every level of its work.
About
Founded in 1940 and headquartered at 271 Spadina Road in Toronto, Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) is one of Canada's longest-standing organisations serving the Deaf and hard of hearing community. CHS serves clients across Ontario through multiple regional offices and delivers virtual services Canada-wide.
What They Do
CHS provides ASL instruction, sign language and oral interpretation, real-time captioning, audiology (hearing tests and hearing aids), counselling, communication device sales, and workplace accessibility consulting. CHS also trains and certifies ASL–English interpreters, helping grow that essential profession across Canada.
