COPE Laos(COPE)
COPE Laos provides free prosthetic, orthotic, and rehabilitation services to survivors of unexploded ordnance and persons with physical disabilities across Laos. Founded in 1997, COPE operates five rehabilitation centres nationwide and a well-known Visitor Centre in Vientiane.
About
Cooperative Orthotic and Prosthetic Enterprise (COPE) was founded in 1997 in partnership with the Lao government's Centre for Medical Rehabilitation (CMR) to serve UXO survivors and others with physical disabilities in Laos. Its Visitor Centre, opened in 2008, became Vientiane's top-rated attraction and is a key source of programme funding.
What They Do
COPE delivers free prosthetics, orthotics, and physical rehabilitation at five centres across the country. Visitor donations fund ongoing services, and the organisation advocates for UXO awareness and accessible rehabilitation access throughout Laos.
Who They Serve
COPE serves children and adults with physical disabilities across Laos, particularly UXO survivors and amputees, as well as people with mobility impairments who require prosthetics, orthotics, or ongoing physical rehabilitation support.
