About
Fondation Salim pour les Enfants Autistes de Guinée is a humanitarian non-profit founded by a mother of a young adult with severe autism who sought to ensure that other Guinean families would not face the reality of autism alone and unsupported. The foundation is active in Guinea and advocates at national and international levels for improved autism awareness and services.
What They Do
The foundation supports autistic children and their families through awareness campaigns, family education, and direct advocacy. In December 2025 it organised the first international autism seminar in Fria, Guinea, bringing together government officials, civil society representatives, medical specialists, and families to document the absence of adequate structures and build pressure for systemic change. The foundation works to deconstruct stigma and improve social and educational inclusion for autistic Guineans.
Who They Serve
Fondation Salim primarily serves autistic children and their families across Guinea, including parents who lack access to diagnosis, information, or specialist support. The foundation is also a resource for educators, health workers, and policymakers seeking to understand and accommodate autism in Guinean society.
