FSAPH coordinates member organisations spanning physical, visual, hearing, intellectual, and other disability communities, engaging government on inclusive policy reform.
About
The Fédération Sénégalaise des Associations de Personnes Handicapées (FSAPH) was established on 12 December 1997 and is headquartered in Dakar. It is the primary national umbrella body for organisations of persons with disabilities (DPOs) in Senegal, bringing together associations that represent a wide range of disability communities across all regions of the country.
What They Do
FSAPH advocates for the development and enforcement of legislation protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, promotes economic autonomy and employment inclusion, and coordinates national disability-awareness campaigns. The federation engages directly with government institutions and participates in regional and continental disability-rights networks, including the African Disability Forum. It also lobbies for equitable access to public services, education, and social protection schemes.
Who They Serve
FSAPH serves persons with all types of disabilities across Senegal, as well as the member associations and families supporting them. Policymakers, civil society partners, and international organisations also engage with FSAPH as the authoritative voice of the Senegalese disability community.
