Institut National Ivoirien pour la Promotion des Aveugles(INIPA)
INIPA is Côte d'Ivoire's national institute for the education and promotion of blind and visually impaired people, delivering Braille-based schooling from primary through secondary level and vocational training since 1974. It is the country's primary residential school and resource centre for blind persons.
About
Established on 15 September 1974 in Yopougon, Abidjan, with support from Switzerland's CARETAS organisation, INIPA is Côte d'Ivoire's oldest and most comprehensive residential institution for blind education and rehabilitation. Spanning a 4-hectare campus, it consistently achieves high national exam pass rates and welcomes boarding students from across the country.
What They Do
INIPA delivers full primary and secondary education in Braille, provides vocational training in trades accessible to blind graduates, and offers medical, social, and boarding support services. It also functions as a national resource centre for Braille materials and inclusive education guidance for blind learners throughout Côte d'Ivoire.
