Mada — Qatar Assistive Technology Center(Mada)
Qatar's national center for digital inclusion and assistive technology, established by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Mada promotes accessible ICT for persons with disabilities and the elderly across Qatar and the wider Arab region.
About
Mada — Qatar Assistive Technology Center was established in 2010 under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MOTC) of Qatar. Its founding mandate is to promote digital inclusion and ensure that information and communication technologies (ICT) are fully accessible to persons with disabilities and older adults in Qatar and across the Arab world.
What They Do
Mada operates Qatar's national assistive technology portal, an AT Stations network where the public can trial devices, and the Mada Innovation Program (MadaLAB) that incubates accessibility-focused technology startups. The center develops Arabic-language accessibility resources, conducts policy research, and trains professionals in AT assessment and implementation. It also hosts the annual Arab Accessibility Forum, making it a regional convening body for the field.
Who They Serve
Mada's services are available to all persons with disabilities residing in Qatar — including those who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing, have motor impairments, or cognitive and learning disabilities — as well as older adults, developers, educators, and government agencies seeking guidance on inclusive ICT design.
