Mind
One of England and Wales' leading mental health charities since 1946. Mind provides information and advice through a national helpline and legal line, campaigns for mental health parity, and supports a federated network of over 100 local Mind organisations across the country.
About
Mind (the National Association for Mental Health) was established in 1946 and has grown into one of the most recognised mental health organisations in England and Wales. It operates as a federated model — the national charity works in partnership with over 100 independent local Mind associations that provide community-based services, including crisis houses, employment support, and talking therapies.
What They Do
Mind operates the Mind Infoline (0300 123 3393), a specialist legal advice line for people whose mental health affects their rights, and an extensive online information hub. It campaigns for mental health parity with physical health, better crisis care, and an end to workplace discrimination. Its Blue Light programme specifically supports emergency service workers, and its Mentally Healthy Schools resource is widely used by UK educators.
Who They Serve
People with mental health problems in England and Wales — including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, OCD, and personality disorders — along with their families, carers, and professionals. Services reach communities through both national digital platforms and local Mind organisations.
