Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities(MSCDD)
The Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities is a governor-appointed, federally funded council that promotes quality of life for people with developmental disabilities in Mississippi by funding programmes in self-advocacy, leadership, and community inclusion. One of 56 DD Councils nationwide, MSCDD eliminates barriers and increases access through grants, training, and policy collaboration.

The Mississippi Council on Developmental Disabilities (MSCDD) is a membership board appointed by the Governor that promotes quality of life for people with developmental disabilities, their families, and their communities. Federally funded under the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, MSCDD is headquartered in Jackson and meets quarterly.
What They Do
MSCDD funds programmes that promote self-advocacy and leadership, develop new service approaches, eliminate systemic barriers, and increase community access through education and collaboration. The Council publishes autism and developmental disability resources for Mississippi families and partners with the Arc of Mississippi, the Department of Rehabilitation Services, and state agencies to drive cross-sector change.

MSCDD serves Mississippians with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder and their family members, caregivers, and support networks. Council membership includes people with disabilities, family members, and representatives from state agencies and relevant community organisations.
