About
The Polish Association of the Blind (Polski Związek Niewidomych, PZN) was founded in June 1951 through the merger of two earlier blind organisations. It is the only self-governed membership organization in Poland established, managed, and acting on behalf of blind and visually impaired persons, with a presence in every county through 16 regional branches and 283 local circles.
What They Do
PZN provides rehabilitation, spatial orientation training, education, cultural programmes, and employment support for its members. It lobbies government to amend laws that disadvantage blind persons and advocates for improved rights before state institutions. Internationally, PZN represents Poland through the World Blind Union (WBU) and European Blind Union (EBU).
Who They Serve
PZN serves blind and visually impaired people of all ages in Poland — approximately 27,000 members — through its extensive network of regional branches and local circles.
