The Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council (WADDC) is one of 56 federally funded councils operating under the federal DD Assistance and Bill of Rights Act. Based in Olympia, WADDC brings together community partners—with a majority being people with developmental disabilities or their family members, appointed by the Governor—to address critical issues affecting their lives.
What They Do
WADDC provides leadership, training, and systems advocacy to promote equitable policies and practices for people with developmental disabilities across Washington. The council funds community-based initiatives, disseminates research, and advocates for legislative reforms at the state level.
Who They Serve
WADDC serves individuals with developmental disabilities—including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism—across all of Washington State, as well as their families, caregivers, and support networks.
