About this resource

About

AccessComputing is a National Science Foundation Broadening Participation in Computing (BPC) Alliance based at the University of Washington's DO-IT Center. Now in its fifth consecutive NSF grant cycle, it has a sustained track record of connecting students with disabilities to mentors and career opportunities across the computing industry.

What It Does

College and graduate students with disabilities can join the AccessComputing Team to participate in online mentoring communities, receive funding for conference travel and accessibility-related costs, and apply for research experiences through the Computing Research Association's Distributed Research Experience for Undergraduates (DREU) programme. AccessComputing also produces practitioner resources for faculty and employers and collaborates with partner institutions to embed inclusive practices in computing curricula nationwide.
