The CDC Milestone Tracker is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's "Learn the Signs. Act Early." programme — a national public health initiative to promote early identification of developmental delays and disabilities. The app translates CDC-approved developmental milestone research into a practical mobile tool that any parent can use independently between paediatric visits.
The app provides age-by-age illustrated checklists covering social, language, movement, and cognitive milestones from 2 months to 5 years. Parents log milestone observations, view tips and activities appropriate to their child's stage, and generate a PDF or email summary to share with their child's doctor before each well visit. A premature birth adjustment feature recalculates milestone expectations using corrected age so results are meaningful for babies born early.
Parents and caregivers of children from birth to age five, including those tracking development after a premature birth, following a disability diagnosis, or responding to a concern raised by a healthcare provider. The app is free on iOS and Android in English and Spanish.
