Disability:IN is the leading nonprofit resource for business disability inclusion worldwide, and its NextGen Leaders programme is its flagship initiative for young people with disabilities entering the workforce. Open to undergraduate students, graduate students, law students, and recent graduates from US colleges or universities who self-identify as having any disability, the programme runs annually with competitive cohort selection.
Each NextGen Leader is matched one-on-one with a mentor from a Disability:IN corporate partner for a six-month virtual relationship requiring approximately four to six hours per month. The programme includes group webinars, leadership development workshops, recruiter networking sessions, and direct exposure to inclusive employers across industries including finance, technology, consulting, and healthcare. There is no cost to participate.
NextGen Leaders is designed for young adults with any type of disability who are currently enrolled in a US college or university or who graduated within the past year and are seeking to enter the professional workforce. The programme particularly benefits individuals who are disclosing a disability in a career context for the first time and those who want direct access to major employers committed to hiring and advancing people with disabilities.
