DO-IT (Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking, and Technology) is based at the University of Washington and has operated since the early 1990s with support from the National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Education. It is one of the most comprehensive disability-in-education programmes in the United States.
DO-IT runs multi-year Scholars programmes for high school students with disabilities, including summer residential experiences on the UW campus, one-on-one mentoring with college students and professionals, and assistive technology support. Its large free online library provides articles, videos, and modules on accessible STEM education, navigating college accommodations, universal design, and assistive technology — for both students and the educators who serve them.
