About this resource

About

Ekso Bionics is a pioneer in exoskeleton technology with devices cleared by the FDA across the broadest indication range of any exoskeleton platform — stroke, acquired brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury. Its products are used in rehabilitation facilities worldwide and, increasingly, by individuals in home and community settings.

What It Does

The EksoNR is a clinic-based exoskeleton used in physical therapy to retrain gait patterns after neurological injury. The Ekso Indego Personal is a home-use device for individuals with SCI (T3–L5) that delivers powered hip and knee assistance and became eligible for Medicare reimbursement in April 2024. Both systems are calibrated to the user's level of function and adjusted over time as ability improves.

Who It Helps

People living with spinal cord injury, stroke, acquired brain injury, or multiple sclerosis who are working toward improved walking ability in rehabilitation or community settings. With nearly 400 partner centres worldwide, access to the EksoNR for clinical gait training is feasible in most major metropolitan areas.
