About this resource

About

Founded in 1992, Family Voices grew from a grassroots movement of families seeking a stronger voice in health and disability policy. Today it leads a national network of family-led affiliates and HRSA-funded Family-to-Family Health Information Centers (F2Fs) that provide free, personalised guidance to families navigating complex health and disability systems from birth onward.

What It Does

Family Voices connects families to state-based F2F centres where trained parent volunteers help with insurance navigation, service co-ordination, and advocacy for early intervention services. The national office publishes policy briefs, parent training materials, and a searchable state directory. F2F staff are particularly skilled at helping families navigate the Part C to Part B transition that occurs when a child turns three.

Who It Helps

Families of children and youth from birth through 26 with any disability or special health care need, with a particular emphasis on families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who face additional barriers accessing early intervention and health services.

Who it helps

cross-disability
chronic health conditions
parents and families
