About this resource

About

Founded in 2006 by Aviva Weiss, whose child has sensory processing disorder, Fun and Function was built on the premise that the right sensory tools can transform a child's ability to learn and engage at home and in school. All products are selected or developed with occupational therapist input and are organised by sensory need, activity type, and age group.

What It Does

The website offers a curated catalogue of sensory tools—chewy jewellery, compression vests, tactile toys, balance boards, therapy swings, and weighted blankets—each with therapist notes on appropriate use. The Learning Center provides OT-authored guides on sensory diets, SPD, ADHD, and autism, with practical strategies for incorporating sensory tools into home and classroom routines. Blog posts address specific challenges such as mealtime sensory aversions and transition difficulties.

Who It Helps

Parents, occupational therapists, and early childhood educators supporting children from infancy through school age who experience sensory processing difficulties related to autism, ADHD, developmental delays, or sensory processing disorder.
