Founded in 1920, Hadley is the largest worldwide provider of distance education for people who are blind or have low vision. The Forsythe Center for Employment and Entrepreneurship (FCE) is a dedicated programme within Hadley's Adult Continuing Education offering, designed to address the persistently high un- and underemployment rate in the blind and visually impaired community.
Courses cover business fundamentals, communications, computer skills, marketing, accounting, legal considerations for self-employment, and Social Security work incentives. All instruction is delivered online with fully screen-reader-compatible materials and is available at any time from anywhere. Courses are free for individuals who are blind, have low vision, or are DeafBlind, and for their immediate family members; sighted professionals may enrol at a modest fee.
Adults who are blind, have low vision, or are DeafBlind and want to enter, re-enter, or advance in the workforce, or launch a self-employment venture.
