About this resource

About

Founded in 2014 and based in Bloomington, Minnesota, PACER's National Parent Center on Transition and Employment builds on PACER Center's four decades of experience supporting families of children and youth with disabilities. It is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Education and serves families and youth nationwide.

What It Does

The Centre provides an online library of guides, videos, and toolkits covering the transition from high school to college, understanding disability rights in postsecondary settings, career exploration, self-advocacy, and navigating adult services. It also offers a helpline, workshops, and connections to parent training and information centres in every state.

Who It Helps

Teenagers and young adults with any disability (ages 14–26) preparing for life after high school, their parents and guardians, special education teachers, and transition professionals who need practical, family-centred guidance on postsecondary planning.
