by Center for Parent Information and Resources (CPIR)
The Center for Parent Information and Resources (CPIR), known as the Parent Center Hub, is the central resource and support network for the federally funded system of Parent Training and Information (PTI) Centers and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs). Funded by the US Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs, CPIR has been supporting disability families since the 1980s.
CPIR maintains a searchable directory so families can locate their nearest free Parent Center, where trained parent advocates provide one-on-one guidance in navigating early intervention and special education. The website hosts hundreds of plain-language articles, training modules, and guides on IDEA Part C (early intervention), Part B (preschool and school-age special education), disability categories, family rights, and the IFSP/IEP process — many available in Spanish and other languages.
Parents and caregivers of children with disabilities from birth through age 26, with particular focus on families entering the early intervention system for the first time, families from underserved communities, and parents navigating transitions between early intervention and preschool special education services.
