About this resource

About

Parent to Parent USA (P2P USA) leads a national network of state and local Parent to Parent programmes built on peer support from a parent who has truly "been there." Trained support parents volunteer their time to listen and share lived experience, helping newly diagnosed families feel less alone and more confident navigating early intervention systems.

What It Does

P2P USA helps families locate their nearest state programme through an online directory, where matches are made one-to-one based on their child's diagnosis, age, medical complexity, or situation. Matches can focus on early diagnosis adjustment, IFSP and IEP navigation, sibling challenges, or cultural concerns. The national site also provides resource guides for families just starting their disability journey.

Who It Helps

Parents and caregivers of children from birth onward with any disability or special health care need, particularly families who have recently received a diagnosis and are seeking emotional and practical guidance from someone who understands the journey firsthand.
