About this resource

About

Seesaw is a learning engagement platform used by millions of teachers and students worldwide. It is particularly valued in special education for its flexible, multimodal approach to student response — students do not need to write to show what they know, making it highly accessible for diverse learners.

What It Does

Students build digital portfolios by adding evidence of learning — photos of work, voice recordings, drawings, videos, or typed text. Teachers assign activities, provide feedback, and share progress with families in real time. Seesaw includes a library of thousands of pre-made accessible activities. The free version covers core features; Seesaw for Schools adds advanced teacher tools and data dashboards.

Who It Helps

Students from PreK through middle school — especially those with autism, intellectual disabilities, communication differences, or learning disabilities who benefit from showing mastery through multiple means. Widely used as a formative assessment and home–school communication tool in inclusive and self-contained classrooms.
