Created by Rachel de Azevedo Coleman, whose daughter was born deaf, Signing Time began as a home video series that grew into an award-winning programme previously aired on Nick Jr. and public television. Produced by Two Little Hands Productions, the resource is backed by peer-reviewed research on the benefits of early sign language exposure for children with and without disabilities.
Signing Time videos and the My Signing Time streaming app (iOS and Android) introduce over 1,000 ASL signs through songs, animation, and real-child footage, with 58+ video episodes available in the app. A free Sign It ASL programme is offered to US families of newborns diagnosed with hearing loss in partnership with the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM). The Signing Time Academy provides additional structured online courses for educators and parents.
Children ages 0–6 with autism, Down syndrome, hearing loss, cerebral palsy, language delays, or any condition affecting speech development. Equally useful for parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators wanting to introduce AAC-supportive signing alongside spoken language therapy.
