About this resource

About

Founded in 1977, ZERO TO THREE is a US-based nonprofit translating research on early brain development and infant mental health into practical guidance for families, educators, and policymakers. The organisation runs workforce development programmes, public policy campaigns, and direct family support initiatives focused on the first three years of life.

What It Does

ZERO TO THREE offers free milestone checklists from two months through five years, parent guides explaining early intervention rights under IDEA Part C, and an extensive article library covering development, behaviour, feeding, and disability. Its Know Your Rights series explains families' entitlements to a free IFSP evaluation and early intervention services, and how to self-refer for evaluation.

Who It Helps

Parents and caregivers of infants and toddlers from birth to age three, particularly those whose children have developmental delays or disabilities, as well as early childhood professionals, home visitors, and policymakers who work with young children and families.
