About
The Alliance on Disability in Liberia (ADL) is a multi-stakeholder coalition based in Monrovia that brings together local disability organisations, international non-governmental organisations, and Liberian government institutions under a shared commitment to realising the rights of persons with disabilities. The Alliance was formed to harness and leverage the synergies of individual organisations working on disability inclusion in Liberia.
What They Do
The ADL coordinates collective advocacy aimed at implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in Liberia. It operates a comprehensive Five-Year Strategic Plan covering empowerment programmes, systematic data collection on the Liberian disability community, and campaigns for social and economic inclusion. The Alliance also partners with government bodies such as the National Lottery Authority to secure resources and visibility for disability issues at the national level.
Who They Serve
The Alliance serves persons with all types of disabilities across Liberia, as well as the member organisations and institutions working to support them. By coordinating sector-wide action, ADL ensures that disability concerns reach the highest levels of government and international donor attention.
