Barbados Council for the Disabled(BCD)
The Barbados Council for the Disabled is the island's non-governmental umbrella body for disability, partnering 17 member organisations, government agencies, and international partners to champion the rights and inclusion of all persons with disabilities in Barbados. It provides accessible transport, braille translation, beach wheelchairs, and sign language interpretation services.

The Barbados Council for the Disabled (BCD) is the premier cross-disability NGO umbrella organisation in Barbados, based at Harambee House, The Garrison, St. Michael. It brings together 17 affiliated disability organisations and four associates, working to effect lasting change in accessibility, inclusion, and disability rights across the island.
What They Do
BCD provides practical services including accessible transportation, property accessibility assessments, braille translation, beach wheelchair loan, and sign language interpreter provision. The Council runs the Fully Accessible Barbados (FAB) Programme, advocates for legislative improvements, engages with international disability networks, and collaborates with public and private sectors to remove barriers to participation.
