About

CCDC was founded in 1990 following the enactment of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and stands as the only statewide Colorado organization governed and operated entirely by people with diverse disabilities. Based in Denver, CCDC blends community organizing with systemic legal and legislative change.

What They Do

CCDC provides individual advocacy, systems advocacy, legal representation, and legislative and regulatory lobbying. Staff and volunteers testify before the Colorado General Assembly, pursue strategic litigation to challenge discriminatory policies, and run peer support programs focused on Medicaid access, home- and community-based services, and accessible housing.

Who They Serve

Coloradans with any type of disability — physical, mental health, sensory, or cognitive — who need advocacy, legal support, or community connection. CCDC places particular emphasis on issues affecting people who rely on home- and community-based services and those facing housing discrimination.
