Czech National Disability Council(NRZP ČR)

The Czech National Disability Council is the leading cross-disability umbrella organisation in the Czech Republic, uniting member bodies that collectively represent more than 250,000 people with disabilities. Founded in 2000, it advocates for rights, social inclusion, and equal opportunities at national and regional level.

Národní rada osob se zdravotním postižením ČR (NRZP ČR) was established in 2000 in Prague and is a full member of the European Disability Forum (EDF). It operates a network of Regional Disability Councils (RDCs) in every region of the country, ensuring representation at both national and local government levels.

What They Do

NRZP ČR lobbies for human rights-based disability legislation, monitors national policy for compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and provides free legal and social counselling to disabled people. It prepares legislative proposals, runs public awareness campaigns, and represents its members before Parliament and government ministries.

People with all types of disabilities across the Czech Republic, their families, and carers. The Council's combined membership base exceeds 250,000 individuals with a wide range of physical, sensory, and cognitive disabilities.
