Danske Handicaporganisationer (DH) was founded in 1934 as De Samvirkende Invalideorganisationer and is based in Taastrup in the greater Copenhagen area. It is Denmark's primary umbrella body for disability organisations, representing 38 member organisations and more than 400,000 members through 97 local chapters aligned with municipal boundaries.
What They Do
DH advocates before the Danish parliament (Folketing), government, and municipalities on disability policy covering employment, education, healthcare, and accessibility. The organisation runs campaigns for equal participation and barrier removal, monitors Denmark's implementation of the UN CRPD, and represents Danish disability organisations internationally through the European Disability Forum.
