Disability Rights Oklahoma(DROK)
Disability Rights Oklahoma is the federally mandated protection and advocacy system for Oklahomans with all types of disabilities, providing free legal services and systemic advocacy across all 77 counties since 1977. Founded as the Oklahoma Disability Law Center and rebranded as DROK, the organisation maintains offices in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
About
Disability Rights Oklahoma, Inc. (DROK) — formerly the Oklahoma Disability Law Center — is Oklahoma's federally designated P&A system, operating independently of state government from its main office at 4334 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City and a satellite office in Tulsa. DROK has defended the rights of Oklahomans with disabilities for nearly five decades.
What They Do
DROK provides free legal advocacy and representation, answers questions about disability rights, investigates abuse and neglect in facilities, conducts monitoring visits to institutions, delivers workshops and presentations on legal rights, and pursues systemic advocacy to change policies that harm people with disabilities. DROK also participates in the Social Security Ticket to Work programme.
Who They Serve
DROK serves Oklahomans of all ages with any disability — developmental, psychiatric, physical, sensory, or chronic — prioritising those experiencing abuse or neglect, those in institutional settings, and those facing discrimination in employment, housing, or public services.
