Disability Rights of West Virginia (DRWV) is the designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency for the Mountain State, a private nonprofit headquartered in Charleston. Part of the National Disability Rights Network, DRWV is mandated by federal law to protect the rights of West Virginians with disabilities and operates independently from state government.
What They Do
DRWV provides free, confidential legal advocacy, information and referral, monitoring of residential and care facilities, and investigation of reported abuse and neglect. The organisation supports self-advocacy and conducts outreach to rural and underserved communities across West Virginia.
