Disability Rights Wisconsin is Wisconsin's federally mandated Protection and Advocacy agency, providing free legal advocacy and rights protection to people with any disability across the state since 1977. Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Madison, Disability Rights Wisconsin (DRW) is Wisconsin's federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) agency, designated by the Governor to ensure the rights of all state citizens with disabilities. Its independence from state government guarantees objective advocacy on behalf of individuals and systems.

What They Do

DRW provides information and referral, technical assistance, mediation, individual legal representation, and systemic advocacy on issues including discrimination, housing, education, employment, healthcare, institutional abuse and neglect, and voting rights. Staff serve people with disabilities in every corner of the state.
