About

The Disabled People's Development Organization (DPDO) grew from a 2003 capacity-building gathering of people with disabilities, initially named RPDG before formally adopting the DPDO name in November 2008. The first DPDO office opened in Yangon in June 2009 and the organisation has since expanded to Magway, Yangon Region, and Kayin State.

What They Do

DPDO organises and strengthens self-help groups, delivers livelihood training in bookkeeping and craft-making, and supports savings groups in households with disabled members. The organisation also campaigns for systemic removal of social and physical barriers to inclusion.

Who They Serve

DPDO serves persons with physical, visual, hearing, and other disabilities in Myanmar, particularly those in rural and underserved communities seeking economic participation and self-advocacy support.
