Disabled People's Development Organization(DPDO)
DPDO is a disability-led self-help organisation in Myanmar, formally established in Yangon in 2008, that develops self-help groups, provides peer counselling, and promotes the social model of disability. It works to remove barriers to inclusion and enable full community participation for persons with disabilities across the country.
About
Disabled People's Development Organization (DPDO) is a disability-led self-help organisation formally established in Yangon on 29 November 2008, with its first office opening on 27 June 2009. Founded by disabled trainees who returned from capacity building at the Asia Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) in Bangkok in 2003, DPDO applies the social model of disability to drive lasting systemic change.

DPDO develops and supports self-help groups for persons with disabilities across Myanmar, provides peer counselling, conducts public awareness campaigns on disability issues, and establishes group income-generating enterprises to strengthen economic independence.
