Disability Research and Capacity Development(DRD)
DRD is a Vietnamese disability-led NGO founded in Ho Chi Minh City in 2005 that supports persons with disabilities through research, advocacy, employment services, and skills training. Disability Research and Capacity Development (DRD) is a Vietnamese non-government organisation founded on 3 December 2005 in Ho Chi Minh City, with initial support from the Ford Foundation. It operates under the Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations (VUSTA) and is led by persons with disabilities who are committed to advancing equal rights and social inclusion.
What They Do
DRD supports persons with disabilities and disability self-help groups through vocational and skills training, employment placement, scholarships, assistive device provision, awareness campaigns, and disability information services. The organisation also conducts disability research and advises government agencies and businesses on accessibility standards and disability rights policy.
