About
Founded in 2005 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Disability Research and Capacity Development Center (DRD) is one of Vietnam's leading non-government organisations working at the intersection of disability services, research, and advocacy. DRD was established to help people with disabilities live with confidence and dignity in an inclusive, non-discriminatory society.
What They Do
DRD provides counselling, mental health support, and information services to people with disabilities. It runs specialised workshops and training programmes, awards scholarships to students with disabilities pursuing higher education, and operates employment support initiatives. The centre conducts research and capacity-building work that directly informs disability-inclusive policy across Vietnam.
Who They Serve
DRD serves people with physical, intellectual, psychiatric, and other disabilities throughout Vietnam, with a particular focus on young people, students, and those seeking employment. The organisation also engages families, service providers, and policymakers to build a non-discriminatory environment.
