Equip for Equality
Equip for Equality is Illinois's federally designated Protection & Advocacy organisation, providing free legal services and civil rights advocacy to people with disabilities across the state. It is the only statewide, cross-disability comprehensive advocacy organisation in Illinois, and also conducts abuse investigations and special education advocacy.

Equip for Equality is Illinois's federally designated Protection & Advocacy (P&A) organisation, founded in 1985 and headquartered in Chicago. It is the only statewide, cross-disability, comprehensive advocacy organisation in Illinois, serving children and adults with all types of disabilities.
What They Do
Equip for Equality provides free legal services, self-advocacy assistance, and abuse investigations through three core teams: the Civil Rights Team, the Special Education Clinic, and the Abuse Investigation Unit. An Employment Clinic offers statewide legal-rights information and advice on workplace issues. The organisation also conducts disability rights education, policy advocacy, and training for individuals, families, and professionals.
