Federación Nicaragüense de Asociaciones de Personas con Discapacidad(FECONORI)
FECONORI is a national federation of 23 disability-led organisations in Nicaragua, founded in 1994, that promotes the human rights of persons with disabilities through coordinated advocacy, capacity-building, and legal frameworks. About
FECONORI (Federación Nicaragüense de Asociaciones de Personas con Discapacidad) was established in 1994 and granted legal status by the National Assembly under Decree No. 20472. It brings together 23 member organisations of persons with disabilities across Nicaragua, with a General Assembly of 14 associations and an elected Board of Directors.
What They Do
FECONORI promotes, coordinates, and strengthens joint advocacy actions among member organisations on eight pillars: accessibility, employability, health, education, social care, protection of women and children with disabilities, disaster preparedness, and institutional support. The federation advocates for legislative change, conducts capacity-building workshops, and publishes news and resources through its website.
