Fédération Haïtienne des Associations et Institutions des Personnes Handicapées(FHAIPH)
Recognized as an NGO by the Haitian state in 2007, FHAIPH is Haiti's national federation of organisations for persons with disabilities, operating across all ten departments in close collaboration with the state secretariat for disability integration (BSEIPH). Its mandate spans health, education, sport, legal assistance, and rights-based advocacy for persons with disabilities throughout Haiti.
About
Fédération Haïtienne des Associations et Institutions des Personnes Handicapées (FHAIPH) was established and officially recognised as an NGO on May 24, 2007 by the Haitian Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation. It works in close partnership with the Bureau du Secrétaire d'État à l'Intégration des Personnes Handicapées (BSEIPH) and has received grants from the Disability Rights Fund to strengthen its advocacy work.
What They Do
FHAIPH coordinates and strengthens the capacity of member disability organisations across all ten Haitian departments, monitors compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and implements programmes in health, education, sport, communication, legal assistance, and research. The federation has partnered with international organisations including Project HOPE and is currently executing a project on strengthening the political, social, and economic participation of persons with disabilities.
