About
Kentucky Protection & Advocacy (KY P&A) is the official, independent agency designated by the Governor as Kentucky's protection and advocacy system for people with disabilities. Established in 1977 and headquartered in Frankfort, KY P&A operates six federally mandated advocacy programmes with a staff of professional advocates and attorneys.
What They Do
KY P&A provides information and referral, technical assistance, individual advocacy, and legal services to Kentuckians whose disability-related rights have been violated. The agency addresses abuse, neglect, discrimination, and barriers to inclusion in education, employment, healthcare, and community life.
Who They Serve
KY P&A serves Kentuckians of all ages with any type of disability, including physical, cognitive, psychiatric, and sensory disabilities. Services are available statewide and are provided free of charge.
