Alliance on Disability in Liberia
The Alliance on Disability in Liberia is a multi-stakeholder coalition of 27 organisations including Liberian DPOs, UN agencies, and government bodies working to advance the rights of persons with disabilities under the UNCRPD. It serves as Liberia's strategic coordination mechanism for disability-inclusive development across all 15 counties.
About
The Alliance on Disability in Liberia brings together 27 organisations—Liberian DPOs, UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, WHO), and government bodies—to build synergies and advocate collectively for disability inclusion at the highest policy and decision-making levels. A high-level meeting co-hosted with UNDP in June 2025 reaffirmed the Alliance's active mandate and continued engagement.
What They Do
The Alliance conducts policy advocacy with the Liberian government, coordinates disability actors to eliminate duplication and build collective impact, and engages jointly on the UNCRPD to ensure persons with disabilities are included in national development planning and legislation. It works to secure meaningful political participation and legal representation for disabled Liberians.
Who They Serve
Persons with all types of disabilities across Liberia's 15 counties, served through the Alliance's 27 member organisations spanning national DPOs, international agencies, and government disability bodies.
