About

Mozgáskorlátozottak Egyesületeinek Országos Szövetsége (MEOSZ) — the National Federation of Organisations of People with a Physical Disability — was founded in Budapest in 1981. It is an explicitly disabled-led national umbrella body and an active member of the European Network on Independent Living (ENIL) and the Hungarian National Council of Associations of Persons with Disabilities (FESZT).

What They Do

MEOSZ provides a national advocacy platform on issues including legal capacity, education, social services, employment, and built-environment accessibility. Its member associations run hands-on services reaching thousands of people daily, from early childhood development programmes to residential care. MEOSZ also provides legal casework and policy consultation at the national level.

Who They Serve

MEOSZ primarily serves adults with physical and mobility disabilities in Hungary through its network of approximately 100 local and regional member associations, offering advocacy support, direct services, and peer connections across the country.
