The Minnesota Disability Law Center (MDLC) is the federally designated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system for the state of Minnesota, operated by Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid. Located at 430 First Ave. N in Minneapolis, MDLC has a second office in Duluth and serves Minnesotans statewide.
What They Do
MDLC provides free legal advice, brief services, and full representation to people with disabilities on issues including access to services, voting rights, education, employment, housing, and healthcare. It monitors and investigates facilities serving people with disabilities and administers the Protection and Advocacy for Voter Access (PAVA) programme.
