About
Myanmar Independent Living Initiative (MILI) was founded on 8 May 2011 in Yangon to introduce the independent living movement and promote a social and rights-based model of disability in Myanmar. The organisation is run by and for persons with disabilities and operates a Disability Resource Pool at milimyanmar.org.
What They Do
MILI works across three pillars — development, political advocacy, and social enterprise — covering disability-inclusive elections, employment, education, arts, disaster risk reduction, and accessible business practices. It conducts training, awareness campaigns, and policy advocacy at local, regional, and national levels.
Who They Serve
MILI serves people with multiple types of disabilities throughout Myanmar, with a particular focus on enabling adults with physical and other disabilities to participate fully in civic, economic, and social life.
