North Dakota Disabilities Advocacy Consortium(NDDAC)
A statewide nonprofit coalition of disability organisations and advocates in North Dakota working together since 2002 to advance public policies that ensure people with disabilities have the supports and services they need to live productively and independently. NDDAC takes a cross-disability, cross-cultural approach encompassing blindness, hearing impairments, mobility, psychiatric, and intellectual disabilities.
About
The North Dakota Disabilities Advocacy Consortium (NDDAC), incorporated in 2002 and headquartered in Bismarck, is a member-driven coalition of disability organisations and individuals committed to cross-disability public policy advocacy. Rather than focusing on a single condition, NDDAC organises broadly around the shared goal of removing environmental, policy, and social barriers that limit the independence of people with disabilities.
What They Do
NDDAC coordinates legislative advocacy during North Dakota's biennial legislative sessions, publishes policy analysis, hosts Disability Awareness Day at the State Capitol, and amplifies the voices of people with disabilities and families in state policy processes. Member organisations span blind, Deaf, mobility-impaired, psychiatric, and intellectual and developmental disability constituencies.
Who They Serve
North Dakotans with any disability, disability organisations of all types, family members, and allies engaged in public policy advocacy to improve the disability service and support systems in the state.
