About

The Northwest ADA Center (ADANW) is housed within the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington and serves as Region 10 of the federally funded ADA National Network. ADANW provides neutral, expert guidance on the Americans with Disabilities Act to any caller — free of charge and in confidence.

What They Do

ADANW answers ADA questions from businesses, government agencies, healthcare systems, schools, non-profits, and disabled individuals. The centre offers virtual and in-person training, publishes ADA guidance documents, conducts accessibility site assessments, and provides consultation on accessible design, employment, arts, and healthcare accessibility. Staff have worked with regional venues including the Seattle Theater Group and Woodland Park Zoo to improve disability inclusion practices.

Who They Serve

Individuals with disabilities, employers, state and local governments, schools, and community organisations across Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. All technical assistance is provided at no cost; the centre can be reached toll-free at 800-949-4232.
